一次試験のリーディング、リスニングに加えて、必ずするのが英作文のトレーニング。特に昨年の配点の改定により、英作文の比率が高くなっているので、初受験で合格までは狙わないという方にもトレーニングをしています。
トレーニングは、体系化してあり、ステップごとにこんな風にやっています。
さて、英作文の型を理解したら、実際に書いていくのですが、「論理的に書く」というのが苦手な方が多いです。日本では、トピックに対して自分の立場をはっきりとさせ、論理的に文を書くという経験をあまりしていない人が多いからですね。
そういう方には、まず日本語で書いていただきます。「日本語でも意見が出ない」という方も以外と多いです。日本語で意見が書けなければ、英語になりません。
英検１級英作文では、「論理的に書く」というのがとにかく重要！日頃から社会問題などに題して、自分の意見をはっきりさせ、その理由を言ってみる、書いてみるという練習が必要ですね。
そして、日本語メモをもとにを英文にしてもらい、コメントをしてまた書き直してもらう。これを繰り返していくと、書けるようになっていくのです。
こちらは、Kさん（三重県）との「コメント→修正」のやりとりの一例。
そして、そんなやりとりを数回繰り返したあとのKさんの英作文。まだ完全ではありませんが、かなりよくなっています。この後もコメント→修正を繰り返して、合格ラインに達したら、次の英作文に進んでもらいました。その後、Kさんは実際の英検でも20点台後半のスコアを取ったので、力がつきました。

I don’t think fossil fuels such as oil and gas will be the world’s main source of energy in the coming decades. I have thee reasons to support my idea.
First, we cannot have fossil fuels permanently. It is said that they will end in decades, if we continue using fossil fuels them. In addition, Japan has few fossil fuels. If the war occurred, it would become difficult to import them. Therefore, we need to have alternative energy resources.
Second, fossil fuels have been causing environmental problems. For instance, China is still using massive fossil fuels and it is deteriorating air quality. I saw a news that it is very rare to see a clear sky there and every child is wearing a mask on the way to school because of that. Fossil fuels have made their health worse. It is necessary to have a clean environment for future children.
Lastly, eco-friendly energy technology has made a great improvement recently. We can have clean energy from sunlight, wind and ground heat. Also, the cost of those kinds of energy will be more affordable in near future. If so, we will be able to use them easily.
In conclusion, for the reasons mentioned above, I believe fossil fuels will be replaced by other energy resources. We have to make more efforts to develop clean energy for our future.
英検１級の英作文と言うと、市販のサンプル教材を丸暗記しようと方も多いようですが、実際の試験であのレベルの英作文を書く必要はありません。あんな文はなかなか書けません。
